Jerry Stahl and Francis Levy

Please join THE ST. MARK'S BOOKSHOP READING SERIES on Thursday, March 19th, as we invite JERRY STAHL and FRANCIS LEVY to the Solas stage!

JERRY STAHL is author of the narcotic memoir classic Permanent Midnight; I, Fatty (film rights optioned by Johnny Depp); Perv—A Love Story; and Plainclothes Naked. He has written extensively for film and television, and his much-anthologized fiction and journalism have appeared in Esquire, Details, Playboy, Black Book, LA Weekly, and Tin House. He lives in Los Angeles. His latest book is Pain Killers, published by HarperCollins, in which a private detective gets caught up in a conspiracy involving genocide, drugs, eugenics, human experiments, and a California convict who claims to be none other than Joseph Mengele. Not to be missed.

FRANCIS LEVY's short stories, criticism, humor, and poetry have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Republic, The Village Voice, and The Quarterly. His latest novel is Erotomania, published by Two Dollar Radio. Says Daphne Merkin: "Although one can trace bawdy influences--from Rabelais to Henry Miller--all over the place, Erotomania is unlike anything I've ever read. I applaud it."

Jerry Stahl and Francis Levy read this Thursday, March 19th at 7:30 PM sharp, at SOLAS BAR (Right around the corner from St. Mark's Bookshop, at 232 E. Ninth Street, between 2nd and 3rd Avenues). Copies of these author's books will be available for sale at the event, and there will be a signing after the reading. All St. Mark's Bookshop events are free to the public.
