George Schneeman 1934-2009

George Schneeman,  a long time resident of New York's Lower East Side, whose paintings have accompanied poets Bill Berkson, Ted Berrigan, Michael Brownstein, Tom Clark, Edwin Denby, Larry Fagin, Dick Gallup, Allen Ginsberg, Ted Greenwald, Steve Katz, Lewis MacAdams, Alice Notley, Ron Padgett, Harris Schiff, Peter Schjeldahl, Tom Veitch, Anne Waldman, Lewis Warsh, and many others,  passed away this morning. 

Our hearts and deepest condolences go out to Katie and George’s surviving sons—
Paul and Emil—and grandsons—Luke and Mark
